Christine McVie - (Adventure/KOCH)

In the Meantime
by Bugs Burnett

McVie decided to forego her erstwhile Fleetwood Mac bandmates on their 2003 Say You Will album and tour. Now she's turned around and made a poor man's Fleetwood Mac album. The lead-off Friend is the best track here, though the bass line echoes You Make Loving Fun. One of Fleetwood Mac's strengths was you didn't have to listen to McVie sing lead on every track. All this solo album does is prove the old axiom that the sum (Fleetwood Mac) is usually greater than its parts.
