...TWO brilliant blasts from the chart-topping past, Blondie and Fleetwood Mac, are captured live in action, on two newly released DVDs.

Blondie's Live By Request DVD hears Debbie Harry in fine, feline form - meowing and cooing cool menthol vocals over hits including Heart Of Glass and Rapture.

But her perfect pop performance is blighted by a band of hired hands, which sullies Blondie's taut, New-Wave-meets-disco sound with unsympathetic AOR rock chords.

Meanwhile, Fleetwood Mac's reunion of their vintage Rumours' line-up - experienced by a sold out Belfast Odyssey Arena audience last December - is a much more authentic aural experience.

On Live In Boston, Stevie Nicks' raspy vocals remain a wonder. But it's guitarist, Lindsey Buckingham's astonishing playing which steals the show. However, why has a two-hour show been split onto two DVDs? Even though you also get a bonus 10 track live CD, the 26.99 asking price is rather high....
