Australian Reports on Stevie's Tax Audit

STEVIE Nicks's (pictured) flowing outfits and long, blonde tresses have got the former Fleetwood Mac singer in trouble with the US tax man. The Internal Revenue Service wants $US85,887 ($109,343) in additional taxes from Nicks, saying she improperly took about $US270,000 in business deductions for make-up, hair styling, clothes, a home office and management fees.

The case stems from an audit of her 1991 return. Nicks's attorney, George G. Short, said in court papers the expenditure was necessary because "much of this clothing is discarded immediately after use because it simply cannot be reused, given the energy levels of [Nicks's] performances and the heat generated on stage from lights and physical exertion". Does that mean she, er, glows rather a lot? Apparently channelling a white wing dove can be hard work.
