Gibson's More Short Riffs, March 9, 1998

Going and Gone -- Hank Williams' Gibson Southern Jumbo acoustic guitar was sold for $112,500 at a recent auction of pop memorabilia at Christie's in New York. Other hot and expensive collectibles included Janis Joplin's bellbottoms for $10,350, Jimi Hendrix's leather motorcycle jacket for $13,800, a page of John Lennon's typed and annotated lyrics for "Whatever Gets You Through the Night" for $28,750, and believe it or not, Fleetwood Mac's 1977 Grammy Award for a cool $560,540. Wonder who sold that? Why?
