Fleetwood Mac extends North American outing into the fall

by Rob Evans, liveDaily Editor

July 16, 2003 03:00 PM - UPDATED: AUG. 20, 2003 10 a.m. PT--Pop-rock veterans Fleetwood Mac will keep their current North American outing alive into October, and follow it up with a tour of Europe.

The tour's next leg gets underway on Sept. 6 in Biloxi, MS, and wraps up in Las Vegas on Oct. 19. The European jaunt opens in Germany on Nov. 9, and runs for about a month.

Fleetwood Mac has been on the road in North America since early May to support its first studio set of all-new material in more than a decade.

Titled "Say You Will," the album hit stores in mid-April. The release marks Fleetwood Mac's first studio album featuring Stevie Nicks, Lindsey Buckingham, Mick Fleetwood and John McVie since 1986's "Tango in the Night." Keyboardist-vocalist Christine McVie has retired from the group.

According to Reprise Records, the album was recorded in Los Angeles over 18 months, with Buckingham producing.

Fleetwood Mac's previous studio album of new material was 1990's "Behind the Mask," but it did not feature core member Buckingham. In 1997, the group released "The Dance," which combined re-workings of some of the band's old material with a few new tracks.
