ROCK AND ROLL HALL OF FAMER, PETER GREEN RETURNS TO STATES FOR COMMAND PERFORMANCE AT MUSEUM'S ROBERT JOHNSON TRIBUTE SEPTEMBER 26

Cleveland September 23, 1998 - Peter Green, founder of Fleetwood Mac and the guitarist BB King claimed was the only one who "could make him sweat" returns to the states on the heels of a sold out domestic tour which marked his first appearance stateside since 1978. Supporting his recent release with the Splinter Group, The Robert Johnson Songbook (Snapper), Hall of Fame inductee Green has been invited with his fellow guitarist Nigel Watson, to participate in the museum's Robert Johnson Tribute with a command performance on Saturday, September 26 at the Odeon in Cleveland, 8:30pm. Entitled the "Juke Joint Jam," Green will be appearing with G. Love, Chris Whitley, Government Mule, Sonny Landreth, Joe Louis Walker, Billy Branch among others. Tickets ($15) are available through the museum box office (800) 493-ROLL.

Part of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame's American Music Masters series programs, "Hellhound on my Trail: Robert Johnson and the Blues" honors the legendary King of the Delta Blues in a week of lectures, films, and art exhibit, a daylong conference on Johnson's life and legacy, as well as 3 concerts.
